How to Get Longer Nails

If there is one thing most women try to achieve but just can’t do it, is get longer nails. It’s hard to get your nails to grow because of so many things, including calcium deficiency. If your body does not get enough calcium, your nails tend to slow their growth and they become weak and brittle. Even if you do get enough calcium but your nails are still short and weak, it may be because that calcium doesn’t go through, in which case a lot of people have to take vitamins and calcium tablets.

That being said, there are other factors which stop your nails from growing. One of them is not enough upkeep. In order to get your nails to grow longer, you have to take care of them, just like you take extra care with your hair. If you wash dishes or you use any chemicals and your hands aren’t covered, these things affect your nails and leave them damaged. So next time, put on some gloves!

Also remember that for your nails to grow, you need to file them on a regular basis. Now you might think that doing that will actually shorten them, but it just keep them healthy and gets rid of the top, brittle layer (just like you get your split ends cut, it’s the same with your nails). So file your nails every other day, and you’ll start seeing them grow longer and stronger.

If you’re in the process of trying to get longer nails, try to stay away from nail polishes and they too, can damage the nail. Instead, try using a nail growth publish, as there are tons and tons out there. They nourish your nails, and they are packed with vitamins, giving your nail the treatment it deserves. Use it every other day, and you’ll see a major improvement.

Lastly, take care of your nails by getting rid of your cuticles, and pushing back the skin at the bottom of your nails. Oh, and bitting your nails is a big no-no so try to keep that in mind!

Ways T o Keep Your Skin Healthy

Our skin goes through so much on a day to day basis including environmental pollution, harmful UV rays, smoke, oily makeup, and many more. These all take a dire effect on your skin either making it dry, break out, or age faster, and that’s why we need to take care of our skin pronto! Here are 5 golden healthy skin rules you should really live by!

1. Wash Off Your Makeup

Never go to bed before at least removing your makeup. If you’re super tired, just grab a makeup removing towelette and wipe your face with it. But always remember to thoroughly remove your makeup before hitting the sack!

2. Protect Your Skin

Before heading out the door, makeup sure your moisturizer or foundation has at least an SPF 30. Even if it’s cold outside, the sun is still powerful enough to wreak havoc on your skin.

3. Keep Your Skin Healthy

One of the best things you can do for your skin is to take Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and will help clear away those pesky zits as well as keep your skin looking fresh and young. Take a maximum of 2000 iu of Vitamin C a day.

4. Exfoliate

Exfoliating is very important because it sloughs off the dead skin cells that build up on your face. Either use a gentle, daily exfoliating wash or do an exfoliating treatment once a week.

5. Keep Hydrated

Last but not least, drink lots and lots of water! If you’re not a water fan, make sure you keep your skin hydrated by eating plenty of water-rich fruits such as watermelon.

Olive Oil: The Secret Ingredient

For centuries, people have used endless methods to getting soft, young looking skin. Fruits, vegetables, and other foods have been used to improve the skin, as well as the hair, and anything else you can think of!

But if there is one thing you should absolutely swear by, it is olive oil. Olive oil is used mainly in cooking, but there are also other uses to the multi-tasked ingredient, such as getting super soft skin!

Pour a cup full of virgin olive oil into your bath, and soak in it for about 20 minutes. Your skin will be glowing and radiating with softness and youth. The best part? Most of us already have olive oil in the home, so there is no need to go out and buy expensive products!

Bio-Oil: Everything You Need

We all have our products that we swear by whether it be something for our faces or our bodies, whatever that may be, we stick to those products because they work for us. For me, I’ve used one product for many years now that has not failed me, but surpassed my expectations beyond anything I’ve ever used before.

I am referring to the one, the only, Bio-Oil! If you’ve never heard of Bio-Oil before, well you’re in luck now, because Bio-Oil is simply the most useful beauty tool I have ever used. This stuff is so effective because it contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil which is an amazing skin saver.

You can use Bio-Oil for the following:
Scars
Stretch Marks
Uneven Skin Tone
Aging Skin
Dry Skin

But what I found to be even better is that Bio-Oil can be used for dark circles underneath the eyes as well as for pimples. It doesn’t say that on the box, but one of my friends told me that is what she’s used it for and so I decided to try it. Within two weeks of using it on my face, I had considerably less pimples, my dark circles were completely gone and my skin felt extremely soft.

If there is one product your beauty closet should not be without it’s Bio-Oil. You can find it at any drugstore, major department store or click on the picture to order.

Natural Ways to Clear Up Acne

Acne can be a tough thing to deal with, especially if you’ve suffered from it for a long time. For a lot of us, there aren’t many products out there that actually help. No matter what you seem to do, those pesky pimples keep coming back, and so in the end, it can get a little expensive to keep up with buying new products or new treatments all the time. Thankfully, there are other ways you can clear up your acne the natural way! Here are 7 ways to ward off acne and pimples for good!

1. Baking Soda

Most of us already have baking soda in our own homes, so there’s no need to go out and buy anything. Baking soda is a great exfoliant for the skin so you’ll want to mix it with a little bit of water in order to form a paste. Gently massage it onto the skin for 10-15 seconds and rinse off. The baking soda will gently remove the dead skin cells without all the harsh chemicals found in other scrubs and exfoliants.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Although a lot of people tend to use apple cider vinegar to ward off acne, you can also use regular vinegar. Vinegar is excellent in clearing up your skin as it kills off the acne-causing bacteria, balances your skins pH and absorbs extra oil. Starting with clean, dry skin, apply diluted vinegar (eight parts water to one part vinegar) directly to your skin with a cotton ball, and leave it on. If you want, you can also use a stronger vinegar solution (say, 2 or 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar), and apply it directly to problem areas, rinsing it off after ten minutes. Lime or lemon juice can also be used instead of vinegar since both of these are rich in citric acid.

3. Egg Whites

Egg whites are rich in protein so and can be used as a mask to heal your skin. Crack an egg open, remove the yolk and leave only the egg white behind. Whisk the egg white and apply to your face. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off!

4. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is great for removing impurities and absorbing oil and it’s been known to help tremendously with clearing up acne. Just cook regular oatmeal like you would for eating, and let it cool down. Apply the oatmeal to your face like you would a mask and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.

5. Tea Tree Oil

You can purchase tea tree oil at any drugstore and it’s absolutely great for treating acne and pimples. Just apply the oil over the affected area, or, if you wish to apply it over your entire face, dilute the tea tree oil with something else such as jojoba oil.

6. Panthotenic Acid (Vitamin B5)

Panthotenic acid is great for clearing up acne and must be used in big quantities in order for it to have any effect. This acid works by helping your body metabolize fats which would normally turn into sebum and eventually secrete through the skin.

7. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is usually used for burns, but did you know you can also use it to rid your skin of acne scars? Just apply a little bit of Aloe Vera gel onto the scars and use it once a day until the scarring is gone.

Moroccan Argan Oil:You’ll Love it!

For the longest time I’ve been reluctant to shell out $40 (yikes!) for a mere 100ml of Morrocan Argan Oil, but after hearing so many great reviews and its miraculous properties I threw in the towel and went for it. Thankfully, I found an 88.7ml/3oz bottle for just $12 at a home store and I couldn’t wait to try it out!

If you don’t already know, Moroccan oil comes from the kernels of the argan tree which is exclusive to Morocco. It’s revered for its numerous cosmetic and medicinal properties since it contains very high doses of vitamin E and is also rich in carotenes. And as some of you may or may not know, vitamin E is absolutely amazing for skincare problems such as acne, wrinkles, and dark spots, while carotene does wonders for your hair.

So how did this little miracle bottle perform?

VERDICT: MOROCCAN OIL FOR HAIR

Well, I just don’t know how I could have gone so long without using it! I initially purchased the Moroccan oil to use on my hair. I used about a quarter-sized amount on wet hair and it was a little too much for my extremely thin strands. While it did leave my hair extremely soft and shiny, it was too flat and so I had realized I used too much product. For fine hair like mine, use only a dime-sized amount and run it over wet hair. You can also use it on dry hair, just make sure you use a tiny little bit as after all, this is still an oil based product.

I have never had shinier hair than after I used the Moroccan oil. Every which way I turned, my hair shone like something I’ve never seen before. Not only that, but it was super soft to the touch and also very manageable. What I also liked was that it had a really nice fruity/citrusy scent that I really hadn’t expected.

I have now been using it on my hair for a week and a half and the difference has been astounding! Girls, I cannot tell you how this product changed my life…it’s pretty much the only thing I use on my hair now!

VERDICT: MOROCCAN OIL FOR SKIN

Shockingly, I had no idea that Moroccan oil could be used on skin…I had only heard of its great uses for hair. But just like with all products I buy, I quickly googled it and found out that Moroccan oil is actually amazing on your skin too.

Its medicinal properties helps with acne, scarring, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. I have combination skin but I’m also still a victim to acne so I was a little scared to apply oil to my face. Anyways, I decided to give it a try since people seemed to be raving about the results they got.

I’ve been using Moroccan oil on my face and neck for about a week, and I kid you not when I say that I’ve noticed a significant difference in the way my skin looks. Not only is it softer, but it also got rid of some of my acne scars! I’ve used hundreds of different skin products over the years, and NOTHING has made such a big difference.

I could go on and on about how great Moroccan oil is, but it’s just something you have to try for yourself. And although it may sound a little pricier, think of all of the benefits and the uses you get out of it!
Use it for softer, healthier hair
Use it to get rid of scarring
To get softer skin
To get rid of acne and pimples
To diminish the look of wrinkles
To get rid of stretch marks

All in all, this product definitely gets my seal of approval and then some!

The Tea Tree Oil Challenge

I’m sure you guys have heard about tea tree oil and its amazing properties before, but I decided to take on a tea tree oil challenge to see how great it really is and if it actually lives up to its hype or not!

If you don’t know, tea tree oil is basically an oil that is taken from tea tree leaves and has amazing beneficial medical properties, including cosmetic uses. So what do I use it for? So far, I’ve only used tea tree oil on my face because I break out a lot, and I still haven’t really found anything that works yet.

So far,I’ve been using tea tree oil for about a week and a half…so here’s the verdict! Although I can’t say I see a real difference yet (I probably have to use it for longer), I have noticed after I apply the oil to my breakouts, they do recede. So far I haven’t seen the tea tree oil get rid of my acne scars but again, I probably haven’t been using it long enough. But if I had to recommend a product that gets rid of scars, discoloration, redness, etc it would have to be Bio Oil.

So I think I’m going to keep on with the tea tree oil challenge for a bit longer, and hopefully I’ll see more positive results. On a negative note, tea tree oil does not smell good…at all. Other than that, it’s definitely something you should have in your bathroom cabinet. You can find tea tree oil at any drugstore or click on the picture to order!
